I love this country, and as I said in one of my unpublished piece "what matters is that the President do the job at hand with the best people he thinks he can work with". PMB might not read this piece today or ever, but let me just address my President briefly.
Dear PMB, many Nigerians believe in the change you promised to bring, we are waiting patiently to see these changes affect the price of garri in the market , the price of kerosene, even the price of spicy biscuits and all the other petty things that affects the common man. We are patiently waiting for fuel price to crash, we want see the value of our Naira fly, we want to sleep and wake , sleep and wake again with electricity in our homes. I personally want to be able to wait till the minute am to go out, before I press my cloth, because the power is constant.
These and many more are the changes we voted for. Let it be known that we are patient, but we are definitely not as patient as the word "patient" implies. Stories of former a minister being arraigned under corruption allegations and money laundering charges has been every where, your promise to fight corruption to the latter was one of the reasons we voted you in the first place, so these stories meet the ordinary Nigerian as good. However, between me and you, we know how corrupt the likes of Ameachi, Tinubu, Kwankwaso, Rochas and many other PDP names that were swept from the PDP "umbrella" by the APC "broom" into your corner, are. We know how much of stolen tax payers money helped your campaign fly in Private jets and shut down arenas, we both saw how the former Governor of Rivers state looted the government house on his exit from power, and not even a probe or questioning was made.
Many men, many many, many men around you from Day 1 of the APC till tomorrow, hold PhDs in corrupt practices, you know it, I know it , everybody knows it. Dear PMB, do you sincerely think that witch hunting past government officials for the money they've smartly and quietly tucked away, will help this poor fresh graduate get a good job any sooner? Do you think probing into how uncountable amounts of Nigerian oil monies were spent from far back in the 70s, would stop higher institutions from going on strike when they feel like it? Is it right to arraign and try to catch a big fish like Bukola Saraki for a petty issue and with a small fish hook like "incorrect asset declaration" while there are bigger worms and hooks to catch him with, and even bigger fishes to catch like Rotimi Ameachi who roams freely about like a free WiFi connection. Do you think it is change that, since this new EPL season local football viewing centers in my locality has "changed" match viewing fees from 50naira to a whopping 100naira, 100% change, is that the change we need?
Sir, Nigerians weren't slow to call you Baba-Go-Slow. Expect you want to take us back to the era of "no free and fair election", Nigerians will vote you out of power when the time comes, if this change we voted for continues to change nothing in our favour. If you ask me I'll say, "wetin don loss don loss" please sir, less witch hunting, and more action on making our economy for a better, for a better Nigeria. Then again who am I to teach you how to do your job, am just a young inexperienced writer what do I know?
