10 days in Lagos.

The very corrosive and unpleasantries of the Lagos breeze was the first thing that welcomed me into the Land of my birth after more than 11months of absence. I expected Lagos to miss me after staying that long away from her, I've never stayed 11months aways from Lagos' kisses and hugs. I expected Lagos to jump for joy at the arrival of her beloved son and give me a close hug, some fine girls to play with and kiss, a good job paying stress-free job on the island plus more, however in my very search for a warm embrace from the mega city I mistook the almost warm breeze at berger, for a welcome to the land where "All iz Well" for me and just me, forgetting that the berger breeze is a dish served to all that crosses the very berger border of Ogun state and Lagos state, irrespective of a newbie or a son born and breaded on the very streets of Lagos, in Okokomaiko. I later discovered that Lagos actually missed me, but not in the way I hoped, not in the proud "my long lost soon is back type of way" but in a "where did u go since," "come and continue enjoying the Badagry express way traffic jam" kind of way.
Lagos didn't even allow me to get home before she made me wish I was still back at Awka. Change really swept through my Lagos, in ways pleasant to some and unpleasant to many many more, homes were brought down like hopes, walls and shops were left broken like a heart of someone learning to fall in love in the worst ways. Change came, and I almost lost my way. If only I could loose my way into a good job that pays in big five figures na, iFor like am.
10days in Lagos, she did treat me thus, but I love her still. I love her for her girls, they keep my day fun filled and busy. I love her for my niggas coz they make the thorns of the forest less painful and harmful by just being there and laughing me through the pain. I love Lagos for my family, even tho we are one less person, she still did an awesome job of keeping my fam together. Am not sure anybody will read this, but if you did I just wanted to tell... am in Lagos and tis being 10days already.
