Britain’s biggest family has grown again! Last Wednesday, Sue and Noel Radford welcomed their 18th child. Their latest addition, a daughter named Hallie Alphia Beau, was born weighing 7 pounds, 15 ounces.
The baby girl’s middle name is a tribute to the Radford’s 17th child Alphie, who only made it to the 26th week of pregnancy. The 39-year-old mom says she is “relieved” her daughter arrived safely.
Sue describes her children as extremely supportive when it comes to their latest sibling. “[Hallie’s] so doted on by all her brothers and sisters and is settling in really well we are so in love with her,” the mom wrote on the family’s blog.
Sue and Noel were childhood sweethearts and Sue became pregnant with their first child at the age of 14. While “no-one thought it would last,” the couple is now happier than ever with their big family.
Besides Hallie, the couple are also parents to: Chris, 25, Chloe, 19, Jack, 17, Daniel, 15, Luke, 14, Millie, 13, Katie, 12, James, 11, Ellie, nine, Aimee, eight, Josh, seven, Max, six, Tilly, four, Oscar, three, and Casper, two.
On whether or not Hallie will be their last child, Sue told UK newspaper The Sun: “I think she’ll be the last, but I never say never. We won’t actively try but I won’t go on the pill. We’ll leave it to nature, if we’re meant to have more then I suppose we will.”
The Radford’s, who are also grandparents to two kids, have been featured on the British TV show “16 Kids and Counting.”
In Canada, the biggest family is the Collins of Peterborough, Ontario, who had a total of 19 children, including three sets of twins. Sadly, mom Beatrice Collins passed away in 2010, leaving behind more than 50 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
In the U.S., the biggest family, the Duggars, also have 19 kids and are famously known for the TLC reality show “19 Kids and Counting.”
